When using the Ribbit REST API there are many actions that can trigger REST events. Whether it is calling into your purpose number, receiving a new voicemail, or connecting another leg to an active call, REST will send an event to a URL you provide, called the Callback URL. Lets take a look at how to set up that Callback URL, and a basic way to inspect the data coming in the Callback Event in PHP.

On November 5th, Ribbit will be hosting a developer event in San Francisco where we will provide a whole new way for developers to mash-up real-time communications with their applications. We lovingly call these things 'Spawn'.
Google Wave is one of the groundbreaking technologies that is such a paradigm shift that it often finds itself indescribable. I was grubbing with a friend one day and explaining some of secret projects we have going on at Ribbit. He wasn't able to get a developer account so as we were discussing the Wave projects, he would stop me frequently and interject:
"So that's like IM?"
"And that part is like SharePoint?" referring to the document sharing capabilities.
Today Google announced they were extending the Wave preview and inviting another 100,000 people into their beta. With the same announcement they lifted the lid on a little project we have been working on to bring conferencing and voice message gadgets into Google Wave.
At SXSWi, we launched the yourcall.ribbit.com campaign to ask the community what the next Ribbit API language should be. Well, the community has spoken.
By now you know that Ribbit is preparing to release its first platform technology outside of the Flash Platform. While our suite of communications services has flourished as an optimized API for Flash Professional and Flex Builder, we have long recognized the need to expand our technology offerings to our growing developer community.
The new RESTful API, currently in a very limited private beta, will open the door for an incredible and unprecedented variety of languages and new platform technologies. This release is not all about just new technologies; It's about evolving the platform.
