Ribbit Flash CS3 Components in the works

Submitted by admin on Sat, 2008-02-23 00:57
Yes, you read that right... but probably heard it 'there' first; when Sir Keith Peters of Infrared5 reported that his work on 'a set of Flash CS3 UI components for Ribbit' has started. After hearing several requests for existing and inquiring developers, we decided to prioritize our efforts in making our Developer Platform API available, across the aisle, to the more creative and design-oriented Flash Platform developers and designers. To this point, the magic of Ribbit has only been available to the talented Flex developer community and with some well documented code, has been able to produce some very exciting web and desktop (AIR) apps built on Ribbit. The new Flash CS3 Components (formerly being called the Ribbit Flash Authoring Component Set) will feature a selection of prime UI controls that visually extend the same code found in the Flex swc currently distributed. The goal of this project is to enable developers, and even designers, to build even more creative and fluid Ribbit applications with minimal, if any code at all. We are talking about the ability to add Ribbit's revolutionary telephony, messaging and contact management APIs into your app with the ease of the drag-n-drop approach found only in Flash CS3. As the project moves forward, we will be making several key announcements including a very exciting conference debut of the Flash CS3 Components in April, as well as screesnhots of the developing UI controls and more. I couldn't be more excited to finally have this effort underway, and especially to have Keith Peters and the quality developers of the Infrared5 team on board for the project. Lots more news and details will be coming on this announcement.
