The beta release of our Objective-C SDK, supporting click-to-call and outbound SMS, exposes Ribbit's capabilities on mobile devices such as the iPhone and iPad.
- With Click-to-Call you have the ability to easily contact a customer call center - for example - I want to call Virgin America, and see their phone number on the website. I should just be able to click on the displayed phone number, enter my own phone number, and get connected on my cell phone without dialing the number.
- Use Outbound SMS in a widget or app that can broadcast messages to multiple cell phones.
Voice-to-Text Transcription will be added to the Objective-C Ribbit SDK sometime this summer.
We hosted a little cocktail party this week in San Francisco and invited a handful of mobile enthusiasts to join us for drinks and burgers to help us celebrate. As a added bonus, we raffled off two iPads to help a couple of developers get started on their projects. Our lucky winners were Tammo Freese (self-employed computer specialist) and Daniel M. Levine, Ph.D. (CIO and Laboratory director at The Rogosin Institute. Enjoy them fellas. You can see more photos from the party in our Flickr account.
We encourage you to roll up your sleeves and dig into the Objective-C SDK beta release. We can't wait to see what you build with it.
